What i am going to do instead, is to give my perspective on this whole episode.

It was very dissapointing to know that only a few (such as Gaurav) zoomed out to take an overview of things while the vast majority of bloggers choose to blindly use their precious blogspaces to vehemently talk about something they had little clue about.

I'll list my own observations here:
1] There are three different issues here:
-False information advertised by IIPM
-Actual quality of IIPM
-Freedom of Speech
2] JAMMAG wanted to evaluate 'Actual Quality of IIPM' but their article is all about 'False information advertised by IIPM'. What i am trying to say is that instead of focusing on what IIPM offers, they talked only about what IIPM does not offer. The article thus, does not help me judge 'Actual Quality of IIPM' in respect to other management institutes or in absoulute sense.
3] Instead of expected formation of several groups based on their views on these three different topics, unfortunately only two groups emerged. Almost all people (read bloggers) took side based on the 'Freedom of Speech' issue. Thus, the debate completely drifted from being about IIPM (either of the first two issues) to 'freedom of speech'. JAMMAG who had exercised their 'Freedom of speech' to write an article on 'False information advertised by IIPM', got tremndous support from bloggers, who (most) had no idea or only little idea (which does not suffice for vehement support) about 'Actual quality of IIPM' , thus unconciously teaming up against IIPM and being percieved as agreeing and suggesting that 'Actual Quality of IIPM' is very poor.
4] People have based all their arguments and allegations based on information that has likelihood of having been forged. How do we know that the 'Legal notice' claimed to have been recieved by some bloggers is not fake and a prank by some email phisher? IIPM categoricaly denied having sent any such notice. I am not suggesting that it was fake, but that it could have been fake. Why are we blindly assuming that everything IIPM says is a lie? I find it hard to believe (moreso without any creidble evidence) that an institute who is the highest advertisement spender in india (ahead of tatas, airtels and marutis), and has MoUs with likes of Yale Univresity, will resort to sending such stupid legal notices to individuals. I dont think they would have such an uncompetent legal department who would claim that they got bloggers' addresses from Google!! (Google's privacy policy?).
5] Gaurav Sabnis IBM/IIPM thing does appear very genuine, so i will believe that the story behind his resigntion is true. But even then, it is all about 'freedom of speech' and in no way about 'Actual Quality of IIPM'.
6] Irrespective of whatever, i feel very sorry for IIPM students and alumni. This whole controversy has been very unjust to them. Lets look from their perspective. I happen to be from one of the best colleges in the world. But if i had not been fortunatate to have that capability, i would have certainaly attempted to choose from whatever options i had. IIPM could have been one of them. When deciding, i would evaluate on the basis of some creterion such as:
-published rankings
-information provided by college
-information gathered from alumni and students
-reputation of college among others such as potential recruiters; institutes of further studies, friends and aquaintances
-etcetera
Published Rankings (by outlook,2003) were in favour of the institute. Information provided by college was also favourable (but apparently false). Since the college is throwing in as much as Rs. 50million every month on advertising, i know that the college has good financial backing and would expect that a good reputation will get established if the ground reality is even a littel less than their claims. With that thought, i would have talked to alumni, students and other interacting bodies to get a sense of ground realities and taken a decision.
However, because of this controversy, the reputation (most critical to a nascent college) has got so charred that even if current 'Actual qaulity of IIPM' is average, they will be percieved as the worst lot hence erasing any possibilty of better students, better faculty or better recruiters in future which could have helped the very infant college live upto its claims and promises in future.

But well, in the end, i live by 'whatever happens, has a purpose to it', so chiil :) If nothing else, this controversy made the procastinator me, restart this blog :) More will follow, now that the interia has been set.

Tiffin

HaloHaloMikeChaik RadeyOneToe

Does that remind you of any lead (as if there has ever been more than one in a band!) vocalist of a marraige band, checking his mic before and after every song? Oh! cumon, there has never been a female vocalist in a marriage band so i could have taken liberty there! Even though we do see females stationed at petrol pumps now and female truck drivers too but female vocalist in a marriage band? Not just yet, not just yet!

What i particularly liked or found funny was the way they pronounced vowels. Halo instead of a hello, chaik (as in chain) instead of check, toe instead of two, radey (as in jade) instead of ready and others such. Add to all this, the background music (noise!?) by the other members of the band blowing air in their music instruments, each one pursuing a different tune as if debating & discussing what to play next and then finally in synch hence hinting at what song is to come next :)

So what has that do with this post on my blog? Oh! cumon, you sure could figure out that this post is suspposed to be a blogtest similar to the above detailed mictest. Oh! cumon, as much as it may seem to be in fashion, dont try to fake dumbness with me. Dont be so appologetic about being a smart fella.

I can actully make people feel good about themselves :)

I am done with the testing now and will continue soon.
Keep visiting.

Tiffin
